Sir Humphrey Davy was the first to create artificial light. While Davy experimented by energy electric arc between two poles. “Light” produced a short life, but still contribute to the science of electricity.
In 1820 a man named Warren de la Rue also tried to make the light bulb. Using a platinum coil, Rue passing electric current through the tube. Like its predecessors, this light was short-lived. Around the same time a man named Joseph Swan also began using carbon as a filament. Carbon provides a lower cost and more efficient filament material than other metal alternatives.
